Alodia + David - The Admiral's House Wedding, Seattle WA

Alodia was the sweetest bride. I truly loved working on this design and being her florist! Planning a wedding long distance can stressful, but she hired an amazing vendor team so every detail was managed for her.  They were married at The Admiral's House which has a gorgeous view of Seattle and is such an elegant venue! She wanted to incorporate her two worlds: her Ethiopian heritage, her pacific northwest roots, and her husband who she described as "a very white Canadian" which I got a good laugh out of! :) They are sweet, fun, and have a great sense of humor!

Alodia wanted deep reds and various shades of peaches and creams mixed throughout. Early July is a glorious time of year as the flowers transition from spring to summer and the fruit is just beginning to ripen. I incorporated unripened blackberries, blueberries and plums throughout all of the designs. There is such a small window for all of these elements to come together it's like capturing a moment in time.

The ceremony piece was a wood arch which was draped with handmade Ethiopian fabric from her Aunt.  It was important to her to have a statement piece hung in the tent so we suspended a 6 foot floral chandelier with ivy, salal, clematis, roses, and sweet peas. As the evening darkened and the dance party started, very subtle lights flickered from within the chandelier. Garlands and flowers were placed down the farm tables and the rounds tables featured lush centerpieces in stone urns. Each guest was greeted by herbs tied with navy ribbon on their menus. This thoughtful touch never goes unnoticed and guests will often adorn themselves with them on the dance floor!
